Open-Pollinated Seeds: the Gift that Keeps on Giving
Our seed collections and seed library only contain open-pollinated seeds. Many store-bought seeds are genetically engineered so that if you replant the seeds from your first crop, they lose their character (forcing you to repurchase). By contrast, all Jardin seeds are open-pollinated, so if you choose to harvest seeds and replant them, they’ll grow back true to the qualities of their “parents.” Saving seed from open-pollinated plants is a way for gardeners to save money and become more self-sufficient.
Grow open-pollinated vegetables and you get great-tasting vegetables year after year. As a bonus, you become more self-sufficient and less dependent on a food supply chain that grows more precarious every year.
